Some photos

I hated working with Lion Brand's Homespun so much. I set this project down for almost two weeks, refusing to work on it, because of that. A few nights ago I decided I was sick of looking at it in my knitting bag, so I picked it up and finished it. I was so tired and frustrated when I wove in the ends that I did it too tightly, so some areas are narrower than others.

Modeling the scarf above. Ignore my expression. I was tired.

I've finished half of the main section of On the Moon. Hopefully the second half will go quickly, so I can go about finishing. I think that will be the hardest part, especially because I've never done i-cord before and I'm going to have to attempt it on straight needles. I didn't notice that I'd need DPNs when I went to buy the supplies for this.

First post

I've decided that since I've been cluttering up my Livejournal and primary blog with knitting nonsense, it's about time I start up a knitting blog. Mostly I will chronicle progress on my projects, note the yarns and methods used to refer to later, and list my current and future projects.

At the moment I have three projects on the needles:
1. Primary: Purse, using knitty.com's On the Moon pattern. I've made some alterations, but only for size. The finished product is supposed to be 6" wide, but I cast on 40 stitches instead of 30 to make it 8". It'll also be at least half an inch longer (when folded) when finished. I'm using Lion Brand's Wool-Ease in white/multi, which has a lot of silver sparkles and is just lovely to work with. The price is not bad, either. This will be a graduation gift for Missy.
2. Scarf, in 1x1 rib. I'm using knitpicks.com's Wool of the Andes in blueberry and maple syrup. This will be a gift for my mom.
3. Scarf, in 2x2 rib. I'm knitting it with a fluffy red yarn (label misplaced), which makes seeing my stitches a little difficult. This is my last priority of the active projects, because it's for myself.

As for the projects lined up:
4. Scarf for Missy: Cloud and cranberry stripes made with Wool of the Andes.
5. Scarf for Andy: Coal and grass stripes made with Wool of the Andes.
6. Baby blanket for Alecia: Pastel green, from Stitch 'N Bitch's Big Bad Baby Blanket pattern, made with Lion Brand's Pound of Love.
7. Scarf for me: Solid pink, with Knitpicks' Crayon.
8. Scarf for me: Coal and cranberry stripes made with Wool of the Andes.
9. Scarf for me: Pumpkin and cranberry stripes made with Wool of the Andes.
10. Sweater for Andy: Grey, black, and green, from Stitch 'N Bitch's Manly Sweater pattern. Probably going to use some kind of merino wool blend.
